Chocolate Garden

초콜릿 가든

Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Lotte Ghana Chocolate, this garden is built with 18,250 eco–friendly bricks made from discarded cacao shells, part of the 600 tons of cacao by–products generated annually. The path symbolizes fifty years of history while transforming waste into sustainable material.
As visitors walk along the path, each step presses the kinetic tiles, converting body weight into energy that lights up the garden — an experimental glimpse into the possibilities of alternative energy.
Dark–toned foliage plants evoke the richness of chocolate, offering comfort and healing. Here, discarded cacao shells are reborn, and each step reminds us that our existence and movement can become a source of strength, a seed of the future, and a value for renewal.

롯데 가나초콜릿 50주년을 기념해 조성된 이 정원은 연간 600톤에 달하는 버려지는 카카오 껍질을 활용해 만든 18,250장의 친환경 벽돌로 가나 초콜릿 50주년을 기념하는 길이 되었습니다.
이 길을 걷는 관람객의 작은 발걸음은 에너지 브릭을 통해 빛으로 태어나 대체 에너지의 가능성을 실험합니다.
짙은 색조의 자엽 식물들은 초콜릿의 풍부한 감각과 치유의 정서를 전합니다. 버려진 카카오 껍질이 새로운 생명으로 되살아나고, 내가 걷는 길을 통해 내 존재와 움직임이 곧 힘이자 미래의 가능성으로 이어진다는 메시지를 담고 있습니다.
