Alcove

Our garden takes the form of a sunken space 1.5 metres deep, its shape abstracted from the image of a human heart.
It is a place created for all beings who have never been able to bloom freely under the weight of the world —
a space where one may rise toward the light by the strength of one’s own will.
A tree opens its trunk to receive sunlight,
just as a person listens to another in order to find their own voice.
This triangular hollow becomes both a refuge and a liberation for every “self” enduring silent oppression.
It is the tiny room where only ‘I’ exist.
May this space allow repressed emotions to be released and flow freely.
May it help to settle the thoughts that have sunk too deep,
and offer a moment to gaze upon the noble self within.
Ultimately, may this be the place where “my own voice” begins.
